Being stiffer than normal tail hairs (like Marble Fox or Shadow Fox), Raccoon Dog Tail is an excellent alternative to Artic Runner patches which are usually poor quality and very expensive.
Raccoon Dog tail hair is fairly long and has a natural curve which makes it ideal not only as a hair dressed on its own but as an overwing to Shadow or Marble Fox tail thus providing a longer and more curved 'Scandinavian' profile to the fly.
